Just like the floor below, the liquor bar was on one end of the room, and the farther from that bar one went, the darker it got. Adam headed toward it, knowing that the other men would be following him. He was in total control, and he knew it. What he wasn’t so certain of was whether or not he wanted to allow Evan into his tight, exclusive romantic world. Despite his vast wealth, he had been unhappy all of his life—that is until Michael and then Jared became integral parts of his life. Then, suddenly, everything stared to make sense to Adam. The dark, stormy clouds of depression that seemed to forever be over his head disappeared over time. The vague sense that something was wrong, but he just didn’t quite know what it was, simply went away.

It took weeks before Adam finally figured out just exactly how great his finally had it, whatever the fuck it was. All Adam was absolutely certain of was that at last he could close his eyes at night and feel contentment in his soul. When he woke in the morning and saw Jared and Michael sleeping, he was especially careful to not do anything that might disturb their sleep as he got out of bed.

Michael and Jared had suddenly and mysteriously made Adam not simply a thoughtful man, but a kinder man. He understood that they were making him a better man.

Adam understood that this wouldn’t have happening without the introduction of Jared and Michael into his life, and he wasn’t certain he was willing to let Evan possibly put that nearly surreal bliss in jeopardy now that he was living it. A change in one’s life wasn’t always a change for the better, he reminded himself.

Adam looked around the room. With the lighting as low as it was, there was little he could see. The most obvious difference between this bar and the one just one floor below was that all the men were wearing silk robes. The members wore black silk robes that came down to their calves, and the “entertainment” wore white silk robes that came down barely to their mid-thighs.
